Fiberlink Expanding MaaS360 Offering to Support iPhone 5 and iOS 6 in BYOD Environment

By , Contributing Writer

When iPhone (News - Alert) 5 and iOS 6 launch, companies that use Fiberlink’s MaaS360 will have instant access to new features and functionality needed to utilize bring your own device (BYOD) paradigms within the enterprise.

According to Fiberlink, MaaS360 was updated early to prevent maintenance outage windows. Also, the company wanted users to avoid having to manually update their servers.

“MaaS360's cloud-based model allows us to keep up with the pace of change around mobility and provides our customers with immediate integration, continuing our longstanding tradition of being the first company to incorporate new devices into mobile device management (MDM) technology,” said Josh Lambert, senior product manager at Fiberlink.

“As with most major Apple (News - Alert) releases, there will be new features that enterprises will want to learn about and leverage, and Fiberlink is able to quickly guide our customers on how to evaluate them,” Lambert said.

Fiberlink has a history of preemptive strikes, including being the first MDM cloud platform to service Office 365, iOS 5, Windows Phone (News - Alert) 7.5 and Kindle Fire. MaaS360 also supports integrated device, app, document and expense management while supporting smartphones, laptops and tablets in a single console.

MaaS360 is a mobile device management tool that supports all operating systems and device types, including desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets. Companies can maintain control over desktop devices while supporting mobile workers by decreasing the security risks and costs associated with mobile devices.

By embracing BYOD, organizations save the costs associated with device procurement and data plans for their employees. Deployment and maintenance costs are minimized because no IT specialists are required to implement applications like MaaS360.

Passcode enforcement and encryption protects corporate data, while audit features enable reduced risk and increased compliance with corporate policies and procedures. MDM tools like MaaS360 increase IT productivity by automating time and resource-intensive MDM tasks.
